Reiki is suitable for both acute and chronic conditions.  Recent injuries or illnesses such as a sprained ankle or a cold respond well to multiple sessions of Reiki over several days, while chronic conditions and old or improperly healed injuries may need regular weekly sessions over a period of months.  Reiki is not an immediate "cure", but rather a supportive modality which grows in effectiveness over time as the body's energy becomes increasingly balanced.
